Who owns asetestprep.com?
This site is a service of Automotion Inc., an Ohio-based company, to help automotive technicians prepare for ASE certification exams. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Institute for Automotive Excellence (ASE).

Who writes the questions for asetestprep.com?
The questions are prepared by a team of ASE-certified technicians.

How much does asetestprep.com cost?
A 30-day password for the site costs $29.95. You may charge the fee to your Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express credit card.

Is my credit card transaction safe?
Yes. Asetestprep.com uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to protect your credit card information. Users with version 3 or newer of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator will be alerted by a popup window that a secure connection has been established. If you have disabled this notification feature, a graphic of a closed lock will be shown at the bottom edge of your browser frame.

How long does it take to receive my password once I pay?
Only a few minutes. Once your credit card transaction is completed, you will be automatically directed to the password site. Write this information down and keep it in a safe place. You must enter your "User Name" and "Password" exactly as it was created to access asetestprep.com tests.

Note: The "User Name" and "Password" are case sensitive.

How many tests can I take?
As many as you want during your 30-day membership period. Your password is valid for all of the available tests; you may take any test as often as you like.

When will I get the test results?
Instantly. When you complete each test, click the "Mark Quiz" button at the bottom of the screen. Your score will immediately appear in a popup window. You may then scroll back through the test to review the correct answers for questions you missed.

What happens to my test results?
The test results are available only to you. Asetestprep.com does not record any test results.

What is the actual ASE test like?
Here is how the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) describes the certification exams it administers each November and May. This information is reprinted exactly as it appeared on the organization's Web site in March 2003.

All ASE certification tests are written to measure technicians' knowledge of diagnostic and repair skills necessary for competent job performance. Because questions are job-related, experienced and competent technicians who work daily on the vehicle systems covered generally receive passing scores.

Test questions are written by a panel of technical service experts from vehicle manufacturers, repair and test equipment and parts manufacturers, plus working technicians and educators. All questions are first pretested and quality checked on a national sample of technicians.
